These hearings will delve into the core principles of decision-making, work structures, and curation processes, exploring best practices like gender, age, and continent quotas. We're tackling some big questions: How much grassroots democracy, control, and regulation are needed? Should majority opinion prevail, or should individual expertise guide us?
If you happen to be in Viena join this 21st of May @Volkskundemuseum Wien for a series of thought-provoking discussions that include decision-making processes, project funding, invitation criteria, the roles of producers and audiences, and the alignment of a globally active festival with sustainability.
Over the next five weeks, the Council of the Republic will attend and contribute to these hearings, culminating in the presentation of the Vienna Declaration at the end of the festival.
